Who Is FocalSpot, Inc.?

FocalSpot, Inc., was founded in 2003 as an expert source and trusted supplier of advanced BGA/SMT inspection and rework solutions, support and services to manufacturers of electronic components and assemblies. (OEMs, CMs, Depot Repair Centers, Prototype Facilities and others)

X-Ray Inspection Products
FocalSpot, Inc. designs and manufactures affordable X-Ray Inspection Systems with sales and service locations through out North America, UK and Asia — providing sales, service, applications support and training.

Rework and Vision Inspection Products
FocalSpot, Inc. is the distributor for DEN-ON Instruments Co. lead-free PCB rework solutions in North/South America, Canada and Mexico. Focalspot also sells a complete line of Den-on hand tools: soldering, de-soldering and selective soldering tools and equipment. FocalSpot is a regional distributor and value-added reseller for Optilia BGA/SMT video microscopes; providing sales, service and support in North/South America, Canada and Mexico.

FocalSpot's Founders

Fred Schlieper, Frank Silva and Doug McClure bring together more than 50 years of experience in x-ray and rework systems sales, marketing and customer support experiences. Our Staff and Worldwide Support Team are made up of industry veterans from Hewlett-Packard, GenRad, Teradyne, Nicolet Imaging Systems (NIS) and Sierra Research & Technology (SRT), with the practical experience and technical expertise to supply and support your ongoing inspection and rework needs.

FocalSpot continues to provide a source for parts, service and support for Nicolet (NIS) Legacy Systems, (Nicolet (NIS)/ GenRad (GRX)/ Teradyne (XStation): NXR-15xx | NXR-14xx | NXR-20...) offering:

• Annual machine tune-ups
• Radiation surveys (any x-ray system)
• On-Site trouble-shooting and repair
• Parts repair and replacement

FocalSpot also buys, reconditions, sells and supports pre-owned Nicolet (x-ray) and SRT (rework) systems. Our certified pre-owned systems are stringently tested and reconditioned to near new condition. Customers are given added peace of mind because FocalSpot stands behind these systems as a continued source for installation, training, parts, service and support.
