First Article Inspection Solution
Lease for $884/mo. w/ $1 buyout!
The FA-Inspector is a scanner-based optical inspection system used to automate First Article Inspection and production quality verification tasks. The FA-Inspector uses template matching instead of algorithm-based analysis; this method dramatically speeds up test development and does not require programming or lengthly debugging.
The FA-Inspector has three modes of operation: First Article Inspection Mode, AOI Mode and Comparator Mode. Each mode generates comprehensive reports complete with error location marks and fault classifications. Reports include a marked image or XY layout for easy rework. Report outputs can be in the form of traveler tickets or SPC data and can be viewed, printed, saved or emailed to customers for rapid prototype review, line release approval, etc.
AOI Mode or Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Mode, uses template matching instead of algorithm-based analysis; which dramatically speeds up test development and does not require programming.
Inspection routines are automatically created during the performance of a First Article Inspection. The resulting test routine is saved and can be run on future production quality inspection tasks.
PCBA revisions can quickly / easily be updated - by simply adding new devices to the library.
CXF Editor provides comparison and validation of CAD (XY data) against the Bill of Materials (BOM) and generates fully validated CXF files.
CAD/BOM validation is part of a complete First Article Inspection strategy. This is accomplished to confirm that CAD/BOM contain the same key device data; and to insure that the assembly is built in accordance with design specifications.
The Layout Viewer provides a simple visual interface to view, validate and adjust pick-&-place XY data. The Layout Viewer also provides the ability to scan and link an Assembly Drawing with a PCB during test setup; to present Part Reference IDs in the event that these are not screened onto the PCB.
Layout Viewer (FA Mode)
The Layout Viewer is also capable of running in FA Mode to quickly perform First Article Inspections with an absolute minimum of setup and system experience. This can be useful in situations where speed is critical and the need for follow-on automatic inspections is not required.

Excel™ - Steps
Import XY to CXF template
Review content and correct formatting errors
Arrange data into columns
Sort data by part number
Save CXF files(s)
Excel
Microsoft Excel™ is an extremely powerful and useful tool for viewing and manipulating XY data to produce accurate CXF files.
NOTE: In the instance that CAD files are not available, Excel™ can be used to import XY data into a template to produce the CXF files needed for AOI Mode operations.
