San Diego, CA – FocalSpot , Inc. has recently received new orders for its Automated Component Inspection Series (CIS) systems including a second system for Classic IC for its Hong Kong facility and DERF Electronics and ArTEL Solutions in New York. FocalSpot has been providing both Reel-to-Reel and Stand-Alone X-Ray Inspection systems for Counterfeit device screen and Intellectual Property documentation to Test Houses, Original Chip Manufacturers and Independent Component distributors since 2006. Steve Lee, of ArTEL Solutions said “ We selected the FocalSpot Systems based on the quality of the images, detection software, and its high quality construction.”

FocalSpot introduces an expanded capability of their proven Verifier Series with the new  Verifier FSX-130 X-Ray Inspection System.  Built on the same platform as the successful Verifier HR 90 KV series, the new Verifier FSX-130 with its more powerfull 130KV , 5 micron sealed x-ray tube provides a tremendous enhancement of range and capability, not seen before in a compact portable x-ray system , and it is still capable of rolling through a standard door.

FocalSpot adds another Customer Service Support office in Portland, Oregon through the addition of  Mr. Nigel Palmer Nigel joined the FocalSpot Customer Support Team as of August  2, 2010 and will be expanding the support to the growing FocalSpot family of users .

"The addition of Nigel has broadened our expertise and skill set in general SMT market applications through his past knowledge and affiliations with Philips Assembleon , a major EMS supplier in the Portland area,  and as a long time staff engineering level position with Jabil Corporation in Florida”, states Fred Schlieper, President  of FocalSpot , Inc. He continues by saying that “Nigel has significant end user experience and that should directly help our customers maximize the utility of their X-Ray, Optical  and Rework Systems offered by FocalSpot.”

FocalSpot adds another Customer Service Support office in Nashville Tennessee.  Mr. Jeff Phelps has been added to the FocalSpot Customer Support Team as of June 1, 2010 and will be providing additional support to the growing FocalSpot family of users .

The Verifier H is to provide manufacturing quality assessment and defect detection of components and assemblies, such as: inkjet cartridges, automotive sensors, castings, electronic modules and electro-mechanical devices, and medical assemblies like pacemakers and other mission critical devices.

FocalSpot has designed a new x-y table to provide more rigid support and holding flexibility for larger highly populated PCBs commonly found in computers, networking, cable and networking infrastructure products.

The Verifier WLP is a portable test stand incorporating a tape and reel indexing system to automatically inspect wafer level packages to detect otherwise invisible bottom side package features such as presence/absence of bumps, bridging, placement, bump diameter, pitch, and internal voids.
